So I had a some vanilla yogurt, the rest of a bag of trail mix (which was not a lot, btw -- maybe 1/3c?), a ho-ho, and some almonds. Later, I had a cup of coffee and another ho-ho.
I had a really good, healthy lunch, so... not a total culinary disaster of a day. Still, I guess I've learned my lesson about how long I can put off supper before I just melt down in the kitchen. Eight o'clock is Too Late.

*off to make coffee -- espresso-strength -- to get the taste out of my mouth*
Okay, I just made muffins, so not so only a bit of "la patisserie" and probably more accurately framed as "the kitchen being used for something besides sandwiches and coffee for once." I do use the stove top fairly often -- pastas and sauces and grilled vegetables and like that -- but the oven, not so much.
Much less hot today unto loveliness, so it was safe to bake. I finally gathered all the ingredients needed to salvage my lovely organic blueberries and raspberries from going to waste, but the end-result muffins look very sedate and ordinary, like slightly snootier box-mix muffins *sad* ...Though I'm sure they're yummy in their own way! I used silicon muffin cups, though, so that'll be interesting to see how those work once I get to the eating of the muffins. They are really cool to work with on the preparation end of things and much easier to clean and store than big old metal trays.
Now I need to find a recipe that makes big, grainy, crusty-looking muffins like those one finds at cafés -- recommendations, please!

Which is not a name to inspire one to transports over the prospect of ingesting it, but for me, when paired with the word "curry," I thought, "Hey! Bean curd! And curry!" So I ordered that from my (new) favorite Chinese delivery place. Perhaps
marimarguerite will give me points for trying this vegetarian delight and near cousin of tofu, but those are the only points I'll get 'cause I did not like it. At all. Fortunately, I'd also ordered a couple of veggie rolls, so I didn't starve (never happen, people). And I tried a new thing which is good -- to try even when one ends of failing, or, in this case, disliking -- so there's that. Now I know. I hate bean curd.

I burned the toast this morning, or, as I like to call it, elected a new pope.
Food delivery of non-pizza foods. And fast delivery, too. And not only by going through some secondary business set up to enable food delivery but which has byzantine rules and regs about what can be delivered and which takes for-freaking-ever (see: former city which pretty much only had these delivery options available).
I've been bemoaning the lack of drive-thru Chinese restaurants here in my new fair city, but then I noticed the "delivery" neon lights all over the place. They'll bring all kinds of food to my house. They will even come up the stairs to my door. They will EVEN take credit cards. Heck with sitting in a drive-thru! This place is AWESOME.
