No, I did not try it to see what it was like. I also had *just* finished perfectly steaming milk for the espresso.
*sigh*
*sips remade café crème*
Well, I *think* that's what I made. I need to look up the exact parts milk to parts espresso to be sure. Yesterday, I finally acquired one of those little milk-steaming pitchers (reasonably priced at World Market--thank you,
lisamantchev, for the recommendation) and milk (Trader Joe's) and today I made the beverage! Now, I just need to figure out how to get it to foam up more.
I woke up this morning, went to make coffee, grinds in the basket, water in the reservoir, switch on, aaaaaaaaaand...
Nothing. Nothing? NOTHING?!
*inhale*
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
So I heated up water in my electric kettle and poured into into the basket (which was one of those helpful don't-pour-unless-in-place kind), and made coffee the old-fashioned way. After running the water through then the coffee itself BACK through over the grounds a couple of times, I had me a nice cup o' joe. I will do what it takes to make coffee. I once made a filter out of a napkin, but, dammit, I had coffee!
Anyway, I did the electric kettle/pour thing three times this morning, and then at lunch, I dashed out to the store and bought a new coffee maker. A nicer brand (not that there was anything wrong with my old one but age and use finally killing it) which, of course, required new filters. All set now. Am now brewing water to clean it out like you're supposed to... though it's already too late, and I'm going to die of new, unwashed-coffee-maker disease because I had a pot earlier made with the machine fresh out of the box.
But the important thing is, I have a working coffee maker once more.
So... yay!
